Business phone systems, set up and supported for you
We move businesses to RingCentral's cloud phone system, keep their numbers, ship the phones ready to plug in, and handle the changes and support after. RingCentral fits most of the businesses we work with. When another platform fits yours better, we quote that instead.
What your phone system does
The parts every business uses, set up around how yours works.
Every call answered the way you want
A phone menu, call queues instead of busy signals, groups of phones that ring together, and separate rules for business hours, after hours and holidays.
Rings wherever your people are
Each person has an extension that rings their desk phone, computer and cell phone app. Calls show the business number, never a personal one.
Voicemail and recordings
Voicemail arrives by email. Calls can be recorded automatically; those recordings are kept 90 days unless you save them.
Texting from your business number
Text customers from the main number or a direct line. Carriers require a business texting registration first, which takes a few weeks, and we handle it.
Fax without a fax line
Send and receive faxes from email or the app, on the number you have now.
Meetings and chat in the same app
Video meetings and team messaging come with it. See unified communications for what that covers.
How switching works
Most businesses switch in two to four weeks, and the number porting sets the pace.
- We look at what you have. Your phone bill, your numbers, who answers which calls, and any lines for alarms, elevators or fax that should stay separate.
- We design the call flow. The menu wording, who rings first, what happens after hours. You approve it before anything changes.
- We move your numbers. You sign a letter of authorization and we order the port. It usually takes a few days to a few weeks, and calls keep ringing your current phones until the switch.
- Phones arrive ready. Desk phones are configured before they ship, so they work when plugged in. People put the app on their computer and cell phone.
- Switch day and after. We watch the numbers move, test calls in and out, and fix anything that day. After that, changes and problems come to us.
What changes the price
We quote each business on what it needs. Send a recent phone bill and we will show you the new monthly cost next to what you pay now.
- People
- How many people need their own extension, and whether some phones are shared, like a front counter or warehouse phone.
- Phones
- New desk phones, conference phones and headsets, or the app only with no hardware at all.
- Features
- Most businesses need what comes standard. Contact center features, analytics and longer recording storage cost more.
- Numbers
- Extra local or toll-free numbers, and business texting.
- Your internet
- If your connection is not ready for voice, a better line or backup internet may belong in the quote.
Cloud phones or the system in the closet?
If your phones still run on a system in a back room, this is what changes.
| Topic | Cloud phone system | Older on-site system |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | In the cloud, kept up to date for you | A box in your closet you maintain |
| Working from home | Same extension on a laptop or cell phone | Usually needs extra equipment or call forwarding |
| Adding a person | A few minutes, no visit | Often a technician and new hardware |
| Several locations | One system, transfer between sites like extensions | A separate system at each site |
| When the office loses internet or power | Calls forward to cell phones automatically | Phones stay down until it comes back |
What your internet needs
Each call uses about 100 kbps each way, so most business connections carry plenty of calls at once. What matters more is a steady connection and a router that puts voice ahead of downloads. We check both before the switch.
Cloud phones stop when the internet stops, so calls forward to cell phones automatically during an outage. For phones that keep working, add Business Cellular Internet as a backup. We also compare business internet at your address.
Each phone is registered to the address it sits at, so a 911 call sends responders to the right place, as federal rules require.

Questions
Which phone system do you use?
RingCentral for most businesses. We set it up, port your numbers, ship the phones configured and support it after. When another platform fits a business better, we quote that instead.
Can we keep our phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing numbers. It needs a letter of authorization and a recent bill, and usually takes a few days to a few weeks. Your old service keeps ringing until the switch.
Do we have to buy new desk phones?
Not always. Some people only need the app on their computer and cell phone. If you have desk phones now, we check whether the models work with the new system before you buy anything.
What happens if our internet goes down?
Calls forward to cell phones or another location automatically, so callers still reach someone. With backup internet the desk phones keep working through the outage.
Can people work from home?
Yes. The app on a computer or cell phone works the same as a desk phone, shows the business number on outgoing calls and keeps personal numbers private.
What about alarm, elevator and fax lines?
Those usually stay off the phone system and move to a line replacement like Ooma AirDial, which keeps the existing equipment working.
