What's Changing

The short version for CenturyLink and Qwest business customers.

Legacy Services Are Being Phased Out

Lumen is moving away from a number of older business services, including legacy CenturyLink and Qwest Internet, copper Internet, T1/private lines, and many voice products.

Your Current Service Will Continue

This does not mean an immediate shutdown. Existing commitments continue, and Lumen has said customers will receive advance notice before future changes.

You Have Options

Depending on the service, Lumen's published migration paths include renewing, moving to a newer Lumen product, or migrating to another provider.

Which Services Are Affected?

Lumen has identified a wide range of legacy products being moved away from over time. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Older CenturyLink/Qwest Internet and dedicated access
  • Copper business Internet (e.g., DSL, other legacy HSI)
  • T1/DS1 and private lines
  • Business lines, PRI, Centrex, and ISDN
  • IP trunking, long distance, and toll-free
  • Numerous other legacy network products

What Should Your Business Do Now?

Now is a good time to get ahead of potential changes. Here are a few steps to take:

  1. Identify your current services

Check recent bills for CenturyLink or Lumen products and note your contract/end date.

  2. Understand what depends on them

Consider phones, alarms, payment systems, backup circuits, and other critical services.

  3. Review your options

See what newer Lumen services or alternative providers are available at your location.

  4. Plan the transition

Allow time for ordering, installation, and testing to avoid disruption.
