Phone systems for warehouses and industrial sites
Warehouses and industrial sites are big, loud and mostly away from desks. Drivers call about a delivery window, customers call about an order, and the person who knows is somewhere out in the building.
Get a quoteWhat the phones need to do
- Shipping and receiving lines that ring a group, not one desk.
- People reachable across the building: wireless handsets, or the app on their own phones.
- Paging over overhead speakers.
- After-hours and weekend routing that matches your shifts.
How we set it up
We set warehouses and industrial sites up on RingCentral. Shipping, receiving and the office each get their own queue, and the schedule follows your shifts. The dock and the floor get wireless handsets or the app, and paging reaches overhead speakers through a paging adapter.
Setup is remote. Phones ship configured and ready to plug in.
Things to plan for
- Gate call boxes, fire alarms and elevator phones are often on copper. See our guides on gate call boxes, fire alarms and elevator phones, or check your area.
- If the internet goes down, so do cloud phones. Industrial parks often have one wired provider, so cellular backup is worth it; see FAILOVER5.
- Your numbers: we port them, so carriers and customers keep calling the same numbers.
Questions
Can drivers reach receiving directly?
Yes. Receiving can have its own number or a menu option that rings everyone on the dock at once.
Do you install on site?
No. We set everything up remotely and ship the phones configured. Your team plugs them in, and we stay on the phone with them while they do it.
