AT&T: FCC docket 26-98

AT&T has asked the FCC for permission to stop offering home and business phone lines on the copper network in portions of the following AT&T wire centers: Aiken, SC (AIKNSCMA); Athens, AL (ATHNALMA); Auburn, IN (AUBNIN01), Boca Main, FL (BCRTFLMA); Bucksville, AL (BSMRALBU); Boynton, FL (BYBHFLMA); Cottonwood Falls, KS (CTFLKSBR); Emporia, KS (EMPRKS08); Eufaula, AL (EUFLALMA); Florence, SC (FLRNSCMA); Gravette, AR (GRVTARMA); Henryetta, OK (HNRYOKMA); Houston- Satsuma, TX (HSTNTXSA); Joplin, MO (JPLNM, as of July 14, 2026.

Nothing stopped this request, so under FCC rules it was approved automatically on June 11, 2026. The phone company still has to notify customers before it changes their service. FCC notice

We matched it to 30 telephone exchanges in 10 states. A filing that covers "portions" of a state doesn't list addresses, so a line in one of these towns may or may not be included.
