AT&T: FCC docket 25-327

AT&T has asked the FCC for permission to stop offering legacy voice service called AT&T Residential Local Service in portions of the following AT&T wire centers: Bowling Green, KY (BWLGKYMA), Colby, KS (CLBYKS05), Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown, TX (CYPRTXCY), De Pere, WI (DEPRWI11), Stilwell, KS (KSCYKSST), Liberty Hill, TX (LBHLTXLH), and Nacogdoches, TX (NCGDTXNC) in Kansas, Kentucky, Texas and Wisconsin, as of March 3, 2026.

Nothing stopped this request, so under FCC rules it was approved automatically on January 12, 2026. The phone company still has to notify customers before it changes their service. FCC notice

We matched it to 5 telephone exchanges in 4 states. A filing that covers "portions" of a state doesn't list addresses, so a line in one of these towns may or may not be included.
