Verizon copper phone line retirement

Verizon has asked the FCC for permission to stop offering copper phone service in 2 filings that cover 462 of its telephone exchanges in 4 states. The next date is October 23, 2026.

A filing usually covers part of an area, not every address, and Verizon has to notify customers before it changes their service.
