Copper phone line retirement in Connecticut

No phone company has filed with the FCC to stop offering ordinary copper phone lines in Connecticut yet. Frontier is the main local phone company here.

No filing isn't a guarantee

Since March 2026 the FCC lets phone companies retire some copper lines with only a notice to customers, so a line can change without a public filing. Phone companies across the country are moving customers off copper. If you have alarm panels, elevator phones, fax lines or card terminals on copper, it's worth knowing what you'd move them to.
