Installation & Connection #

Package Contents #

The following items are included in your package. If you find anything missing, contact your system administrator.

  • The Yealink USB camera CAM50 is an optional accessory for the SIP-T58A IP phone.
  • We recommend that you use the accessories provided or approved by Yealink. The use of unapproved third-party accessories may result in reduced performance.

Assembling the Phone #

1. Attach the stand and adjust the angle of the screen.

NOTE:

The camera can only be connected to the USB port on the top of the phone. And the IP phone only supports the Yealink original USB camera CAM50.

2. Attach the stand and adjust the angle of the touch screen.

3. Attach the optional wall mount bracket.

NOTE:

The reversible tab has a lip that allows the handset to stay on the hook when the IP phone is mounted vertically. For more information, refer to Yealink Wall Mount Quick Installation Guide for Yealink IP Phones.

4. Connect the handset and optional headset.

NOTE:

The phone should be used with Yealink’s original power adapter(5V/2A) only. The use of the third-party power adapter may cause damage to the phone.

5. Connect the optional USB flash drive.

NOTE:

The USB port (on the rear of the phone) can also be used to connect the color-screen expansion module EXP50, USB headset or DECT USB dongle DD10K. For more information on how to use EXP50, refer to Yealink EXP50 User Guide. For more information on how to use a USB headset, refer to the documentation from the manufacturer. For more information on how to use DD10K, refer to Yealink Smart Business Phones User Guide.

6. Connect the AC power or PoE.

NOTE:

The IP phone should be used with Yealink’s original power adapter (5V/2A) only. The use of the third-party power adapter may cause damage to the phone.

7. Connect to the network.
You have two options for network connection. You can select one of them according to the current office environment.

  • Connect to the wired network:

NOTE:

If you are connecting a PC to your phone, we recommend using the Ethernet cable provided by Yealink.

  • Connect to the wireless network
    1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to enter the control center.
    2. Go to Settings > Basic Settings > Wi-Fi.
    3. Tap the On radio box in the Wi-Fi field. The phone will automatically search for available wireless networks in your area.
    4. Select an available wireless network from the list of networks.
    5. If the network is secure, enter its password in the Password field.
    6. Tap Connect to connect to the wireless network.

Screen Icons #

Control Center #

The control center or notification center allows you to access some features or view important notifications quickly.

Swipe down from the top of the screen.

You can swipe up from the bottom of the screen to hide this screen.

Call Screen Icons #

All of your active and held calls are displayed on the calls screen. You can press the up or down navigation key to switch between calls.

For T48S/T46S/T42S/T41S/T40P/T40G, the calls screen can display the local name or number. Check with your system administrator to see if this feature is available on the phone. When there is an active call and a held call, the calls screen is shown below:

You can press OK key during a call to view the current time & date, and phone status. The phone screen is shown below:

LED Indicator #

Power LED Indicator

The power LED indicator indicates the call, message and phone’s system status.

LED Status Description
Solid red The phone is initializing.
Flash red fast (0.3 s) The phone is ringing.
Flash red slowly (1 s) The phone receives a voicemail or text message.
Solid red for 0.5 s and off for 3 s alternately The phone enters the power-saving mode.
NOTE: It is only available on the T33P/T33G/T34W/T48S/T48G/T46S/T46G/T48U/T46U/T57W/T54W/T53C phones.

Line Key LED

Line key LED (associated with the phone line)

LED Status Description
Solid green The line is seized.
The line is in conversation.
Flash green fast The line receives an incoming call.
Flash green slowly The call is placed on hold.
Off The line is inactive.

Line key LED (configured as a page switch key)

LED Status Description
Solid red There is a call parked on the line, and the line key is not on the current page.
Flash green fast The line receives an incoming call, and the line key is not on the current page.
Flash red fast The monitored user whose line key is not on the current page receives an incoming call.
Off The line keys are idle.

Getting Started #

Startup #

After the IP phone is connected to the network and supplied with power, it automatically begins the initialization process. After startup, the phone is ready for use. You can configure the phone via a phone or web user interface.

Configure Your Phone #

Configure via Web User Interface

  • Accessing the web user interface:
    1. Tap Menu > Status to obtain the IP address of the phone.
    2. Open a web browser on your computer, and enter the IP address into the address bar (e.g., “http://192.168.0.10” or “192.168.0.10”).
    3. Enter the user name (default: admin) and password (default: admin) in the login page and click Login.
  • Network Settings: Go to Network > Basic > IPv4 Config.
    DHCP: By default, the phone attempts to contact a DHCP server in your network to obtain its valid network settings, e.g., IP address, subnet mask, gateway address and DNS address.
    Static IP: If your phone cannot contact a DHCP server for any reason, you must manually configure them.

NOTE:

The IP phone also supports IPv6, but IPv6 is disabled by default.
The wrong network settings may result in the inaccessibility of your phone and may impact the network performance.
Please contact your system administrator for more information.

  • Account Settings: Go to Account > Register > Account X (X=1, 2, 3…15, 16).
  • Parameters of the account:
Parameter Description
Register Status It shows the registration status of the current account.
Line Active It enables or disables the account.
Label It is shown on the LCD screen to identify the account.
Display Name It is shown as caller ID when placing a call.
User Name It is provided by ITSP (required).
Register Name It is provided by ITSP (required).
Password It is provided by ITSP (required).
Server Host It is provided by ITSP (required).

 

  • Register status icons on the LCD screen:

Configure via Phone User Interface

  • Network Settings: Go to Settings > Advanced Settings (default password: admin) > Network > WAN Port/Wi-Fi Port/VLAN/Web Server/802.1x/VPN/LLDP/CDP/NAT to configure the network.
  • Account Settings:
  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to enter the control center.
  2. Tap Settings > Advanced Settings (default password: admin) > Accounts to configure the
    account.

Use Your Phone #

Status Icons

The icons on the status bar of the touch screen give information about phone:

Touch Screen

By default, the IP phone supports three idle screens. The home screen displays as below:

  • Swipe left or right to switch among different idle screens.
  • Tap image.png to go back to the previous screen.
  • Tap image.png to return to the idle screen.
  • Tap image.png to view and manage recently used applications.

To change the wallpaper:

  1. Long tap the empty spot on the idle screen.
  2. Tap WALLPAPERS.
  3. Select a desired picture.
  4. Tap Set wallpaper.

To add a widget to the idle screen:

  1. Long tap the empty spot on the idle screen.
  2. Tap WIDGETS.
  3. Drag the desired widget up/down/left/right to the destination spot on the idle screen.

Control Center and Notification Center

Swipe down from the top of the screen to enter the control center and the notification center.

Enter and Update Data

To use the onscreen keyboard:

1. Tap the input field, and the onscreen keyboard will display on the touch screen:

2. When you finish entering, tap image.png to hide the onscreen keyboard.

To use the keypad:
Dial or enter the number.
To select a field option:
Tap the field name, tap the desired option in the pop-up dialog box.

Basic Usage #

Place Call #

  • Using the handset:
    1. Pick up the handset.
    2. Enter the number, and then press Send.
  • Using the speakerphone:
    1. With the handset on-hook, pressimage-20230518153306443.
    2. Enter the number, and then press Send.
  • Using the headset:
    1. With the headset connected, press image.png to activate the headset mode.
    2. Enter the number, and then press Send.

NOTE

During a call, you can alternate between the headset, hands-free speakerphone and handset modes by pressing the HEADSET key, the Speakerphone key or by picking up the handset. Headset mode requires a connected headset.

Answer Call #

Using the handset:

Pick up the handset.

Using the speakerphone:

Using the headset:

Press image.png.

NOTE

You can reject an incoming call by pressing the Reject.

Control Video During a Call #

To change the video view:

  • Tap Full Screen to display the video in full screen.
  • Tap image.png to return.

To turn on/off near-site video during a call:

Swipe down from the top of the screen to enter the control center, and tap Video to turn on/off the near-site video.

End Call #

Using the handset:

Hang up the handset or press EndCall.

Using the speakerphone:

Using the headset:

Press EndCall.

Redial #

  • Press image_2023-05-DD-53 to enter Placed Calls list, and then tap the desired entry.
  • Press image_2023-05-DD-53 when the phone is idle to dial out the last dialed number.

Call Mute/Unmute #

  • Press image-20230519113211553 to mute the microphone during a call.
  • Press image-20230519113211553 again to unmute the call.

Call Hold and Resume #

To place a call on hold:

Press Hold or Hold during an active call.

To resume the call, do one of the following:

  • If there is only one call on hold, press image-20230518153522305 or Resume.
  • If there is more than one call on hold, select the desired call and press image-20230518153522305 or Resume.

Call Transfer #

You can transfer a call in the following ways:

Blind Transfer

  1. Press image-20230518153522305 or Transfer during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to.
  3. Press image-20230518153522305 or B Transfer.

Semi-Attended Transfer

  1. Press image-20230518153522305 or Transfer during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to, and then press image.png.
  3. Press image-20230518153522305 or Transfer when you hear the ring-back tone.

Attended Transfer

  1. Press image-20230518153522305 or Transfer during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to, and then press image.png.
  3. Press image-20230518153522305 or Transfer when the second party answers.

Call Forward #

To enable call forward:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to enter the control center.
  2. Go to Settings > Features > Call Forward.
  3. Select the desired forward type: Always Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded unconditionally.
    Busy Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded when the phone is busy.
    No Answer Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded if it is not answered after a while.
  4. Enter the number you want to forward to. For No Answer Forward, select After Ring Time field, and the desired ring time to wait before forwarding.
  5. Tap image.png to accept the change.

Call Conference #

  1. Press the Conference during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number of the second party, and press image.png or tap Conference.
  3. Press the Conference again when the second party answers. All parties are now joined in the conference. NOTE: You can split the conference call into two individual calls by pressing Split.

Voice Message #

The message waiting indicator on the idle screen indicates that one or more voice messages are waiting at the message center. The power indicator LED slowly flashes red.

To listen to voice messages:

  1. Do one of the following:
  • Press image-20230518171130153.
  • Swipe down from the top of the screen to enter the notification center, tap Voice Mail and select the desired item.
  1. Follow the voice prompts to listen to your voice messages.

Customize Your Phone #

Call History #

  1. Tap image.png, and then select the desired call list on the left.
  2. Drag up and down to scroll.
  3. Tap image.png after the desired entry, and then you can do the following:
  • Tap Send to call the entry.
  • Tap Delete to delete the entry from the list.
  • Tap Edit to edit the entry before calling.
  • Tap Add to add the entry to the local directory.
  • Tap Blacklist to add the entry to the blocklist.

Contact Directory #

To add a contact:

  1. Tap image.png, then select the desired group on the left.
  2. Tap image.png to add a contact.
  3. Enter a unique contact name in Name field and contact numbers in the corresponding fields.
  4. Tap Save to accept the change.

To edit a contact:

  1. Tap image.png, then select the desired group on the left.
  2. Tap image.png to select the desired contact.
  3. Edit the contact information.
  4. Press Save to accept the change.

To delete a contact:

  1. Tap image.png, then select the desired group on the left.
  2. Tap image.png to select the desired contact, then tap Delete.
  3. Press the OK when the LCD screen prompts “Delete selected item?”.

NOTE

You can add contacts from call history easily. For more information, refer to Call History above.

Volume Adjustment #

  • Press image_2023-05-DD-45 to during a call to adjust the receiver volume of the handset/speakerphone/headset.
  • Press image_2023-05-DD-45 when the phone is idle or ringing to adjust the ringer volume.
  • Press image_2023-05-DD-45 to adjust the media volume on the corresponding screen.
