Installation & Connection #

Package Contents #

The following items are included in your package. If you find anything missing, contact your system administrator.

Assembling the Phone #

1. Attach the stand and adjust the angle of the screen.
You can also mount the phone to a wall.

2. Connect the handset and optional headset.

3. Connect the USB flash drive.

NOTE:

The USB port can also be used to connect other USB devices, such as EXP50, USB headset and so on.

4. Connect the network and power.
You have two options for network and power connections. Your system administrator will advise you which one to use.

NOTE:

  • The IP phone should be used with Yealink’s original power adapter (5V/1.2A)only. The use of the third-party power adapter may cause damage to the phone.
  • If you are connecting a PC to your phone, we recommend using the Ethernet cable provided by Yealink. If inline power (PoE) is provided, you don’t need to connect the power adapter. Make sure the hub/switch is PoE-compliant.

1 Phone Screen Show a screen with a backlight that enables you to view menus and data.

3 Line Keys Access your phone lines and features.
4 Soft Keys Access the function on the screen above the soft keys. The soft keys change depending on what you are doing at the time.
5 Keypad Keys Allow you to enter numbers, letters, and special characters. If a menu item has an index number, you can use the keypad keys to select the item.
6 HEADSET Key Toggle and indicates the headset mode. The key LED glows green when the headset mode is activated.
6 MUTE Key Toggle the microphone on or off.
6 REDIAL Key Redial a previously dialed number.
6 TRANSFER Key Transfers a call to another party.
6 MESSAGE Key Access your voice messages.
6 HOLD Key Place a call on hold or resume a held call.
7 Speakerphone Key Toggle and indicates the hands-free (speakerphone) mode. The key LED glows green when the hands-free (speakerphone) mode is activated.
8 Volume Key Adjust the volume of the handset, headset, and speaker.
9 Navigation Keys • Scroll through information or options displayed on the screen.
• Access History and Directory respectively.
9 OK Key Confirm action or answer incoming calls.
9 Cancel Key Cancel action or reject incoming calls.
10 Speaker Provide ringer and speakerphone audio output.
11 Reversible Tab Secure the handset in the handset cradle when the phone is mounted vertically. 
12 Hookswitch Connects or disconnects the phone from the phone line. The hookswitch is automatically activated when a user lifts the handset from the cradle to get a dial tone.

Screen Icons #

Call Screen Icons #

All of your active and held calls are displayed on the calls screen. You can press the up or down navigation key to switch between calls.

For T48S/T46S/T42S/T41S/T40P/T40G, the calls screen can display the local name or number. Check with your system administrator to see if this feature is available on the phone. When there is an active call and a held call, the calls screen is shown below:

You can press OK key during a call to view the current time & date, and phone status. The phone screen is shown below:

LED Indicator #

Power LED Indicator

The power LED indicator indicates the call, message and phone’s system status.

LED Status Description
Solid red The phone is initializing.
Flash red fast (0.3 s) The phone is ringing.
Flash red slowly (1 s) The phone receives a voicemail or text message.
Solid red for 0.5 s and off for 3 s alternately The phone enters the power-saving mode.
NOTE: It is only available on the T33P/T33G/T34W/T48S/T48G/T46S/T46G/T48U/T46U/T57W/T54W/T53C phones.

Line Key LED

The line key LED indicators are associated with the status of phone lines and features.

Line key LED (associated with the phone line)

LED Status Description
Solid green The line is seized.
The line is in conversation.
Flash green fast The line receives an incoming call.
Flash green slowly The call is placed on hold.
Off The line is inactive.

Line key LED (configured as a page switch key)

LED Status Description
Solid red There is a call parked on the line, and the line key is not on the current page.
Flash green fast The line receives an incoming call, and the line key is not on the current page.
Flash red fast The monitored user whose line key is not on the current page receives an incoming call.
Off The line keys are idle.

Getting Started #

Startup #

After the IP phone is connected to the network and supplied with power, it automatically begins the initialization process. After startup, the phone is ready for use. You can configure the phone via a phone or web user interface.

Configure Your Phone #

Configure via Web User Interface

  • Accessing the web user interface:
    1. Press OK to obtain the IP address of the phone.
    2. Open a web browser on your computer, and enter the IP address into the address bar (e.g., “http://192.168.0.10” or “192.168.0.10”).
    3. Enter the user name (default: admin) and password (default: admin) in the login page and click Login.
  • Network Settings: Go to Network > Basic > IPv4 Config.
    DHCP: By default, the phone attempts to contact a DHCP server in your network to obtain its valid network settings, e.g., IP address, subnet mask, gateway address and DNS address.
    Static IP: If your phone cannot contact a DHCP server for any reason, you must manually configure them.

NOTE

The IP phone also supports IPv6, but IPv6 is disabled by default.
The wrong network settings may result in the inaccessibility of your phone and may impact the network performance.
Please contact your system administrator for more information.

  • Account Settings: Go to Account > Register > Account X (X=1, 2, 3…11, 12).
  • Parameters of the account:
Parameter Description
Register Status It shows the registration status of the current account.
Line Active It enables or disables the account.
Label It is shown on the LCD screen to identify the account.
Display Name It is shown as caller ID when placing a call.
User Name It is provided by ITSP (required).
Register Name It is provided by ITSP (required).
Password It is provided by ITSP (required).
Server Host It is provided by ITSP (required).

Configure via Phone User Interface

  • Network Settings: Go to Menu > Settings > Advanced Settings (default password: admin) > Network > WAN Port > IPv4.
  • Account Settings:
    Go to Menu > Settings > Advanced Settings (default password: admin) > Accounts.

Basic Usage #

Place Call #

  • Using the handset:
    1. Pick up the handset.
    2. Enter the number, and then press Send.
  • Using the speakerphone:
    1. With the handset on-hook, press image-20230518112542978.
    2. Enter the number, and then press Send.
  • Using the headset:
    1. With the headset connected, press image-20230518112456875 to activate the headset mode.
    2. Enter the number, and then press Send.

NOTE

During a call, you can alternate between the headset, hands-free speakerphone and handset modes by pressing the HEADSET key, the Speakerphone key or by picking up the handset. Headset mode requires a connected headset.

Answer Call #

Using the handset:

Pick up the handset.

Using the speakerphone:

Using the headset:

NOTE

You can reject an incoming call by pressing the Reject.

End Call #

Using the handset:

Hang up the handset or press EndCall.

Using the speakerphone:

Press image-20230518112542978 or EndCall.

Using the headset:

Press EndCall.

Redial #

  • Press image_2023-05-DD-53 to enter Placed Calls list, press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44 to select the desired entry, then tap the desired entry.
  • Press image_2023-05-DD-53 when the phone is idle to dial out the last dialed number.

Call Mute/Unmute #

  • Press image-20230518112930663 to mute the microphone during a call.
  • Press image-20230518112930663 again to unmute the call.

Call Hold and Resume #

To place a call on hold:

Press Hold during an active call.

To resume the call, do one of the following:

  • If there is only one call on hold, press Resume.
  • If there is more than one call on hold, press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44 to select the desired entry, then press Resume.

Call Transfer #

You can transfer a call in the following ways:

Blind Transfer

  1. Press Transfer during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to.
  3. Press B Transfer.

Semi-Attended Transfer

  1. Press Transfer during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to, and then press Send.
  3. Press Transfer when you hear the ring-back tone.

Attended Transfer

  1. Press Transfer during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to, and then press Send.
  3. Press Transfer when the second party answers.

Call Forward #

To enable call forward:

  1. Go to Menu > Features > Call Forward.
  2. Select the desired forward type: Always Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded unconditionally.
    Busy Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded when the phone is busy.
    No Answer Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded if it is not answered after a while.
  3. Enter the number you want to forward to. For No Answer Forward, press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44 to select the desired ring time to wait before forwarding from After Ring Time field.
  4. Press Save to accept the change.

Call Conference #

  1. Press the Conference during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number of the second party, and then tap Send.
  3. Press the Conference again when the second party answers. All parties are now joined in the conference. NOTE: You can split the conference call into two individual calls by pressing Split.

Speed Dial #

  • To configure a speed dial key:
  1. Go to Menu > Features > Dsskey.
  2. Select the desired DSS key, and then press Enter.
  3. Select SpeedDial from the Type field, select the desired line from the Account ID field, enter a label in the Label field and then enter the number in the Value field.
  4. Press Save to accept the change.
  • To use the speed dial key:
    Press the speed dial key to dial out the preset number.

Voice Message #

The message waiting indicator on the idle screen indicates that one or more voice messages are waiting at the message center. The power indicator LED slowly flashes red.

To listen to voice messages:

  1. Press image-20230518171130153 or Connect.
  2. Follow the voice prompts to listen to your voice messages.

Call History #

  1. Press History.
  2. Press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44 to select an entry from the list.
  3. Do the following:
    • Press Send to call the entry.
    • Press Delete to delete the entry from the list. If you press Option, you can also do the following:
      • Select Detail to view detailed information about the entry.
      • Select Add to Contacts to add the entry to the local directory.
      • Select Add to Blacklist to add the entry to the blocklist.
      • Select Delete All to delete all entries from the list.

Contact Directory #

To add a contact:

  1. Press Directory, then select All Contacts.
  2. Tap Add to add a contact.
  3. Enter a unique contact name in Name field and contact numbers in the corresponding fields.
  4. Tap Save to accept the change.

To edit a contact:

  1. Press Directory, then select All Contacts.
  2. Press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44 to select the desired contact, press Option and select Detail from the prompt list.
  3. Edit the contact information.
  4. Press Save to accept the change.

To delete a contact:

  1. Press Directory, then select All Contacts.
  2. Press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44 to select the desired contact, press Option and select Delete from the prompt list.
  3. Press the OK when the LCD screen prompts “Delete selected item?”.

Volume Adjustment #

Press image_2023-05-DD-45 to adjust the volume.

Setting Ring Tones #

  1. Go to Menu > Settings > Basic Settings > Sound > Ring Tones.
  2. Press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44 to select Common or the desired account and then press Enter.
  3. Press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44 to select the desired ringtone.
  4. Press Save to accept the change.
