Installation & Connection #

Package Contents #

The following items are included in your package. If you find anything missing, contact your system administrator.

Assembling the Phone #

1. Attach the stand.
You can also mount the phone to a wall. For more information on how to attach the wall mount bracket, refer to Yealink Wall Mount Quick Installation Guide for Yealink IP Phones.

2. Connect the handset and optional headset.

NOTE:

The headset or wireless headset adapter EHS36/EHS40 should be purchased separately. The EXT port can also be used to connect the expansion module EXP40. For more information on how to use the EHS36, EHS40 and EXP40, refer to Yealink EHS36 User Guide, Yealink EHS40 User Guide and Yealink EXP40 User Guide.

3. Connect the USB flash drive.

NOTE:

The USB port can also be used to connect Bluetooth USB dongle BT40/BT41 or Wi-Fi USB dongle WF40/WF50. The Bluetooth USB dongle BT40/BT41 or Wi-Fi USB dongle WF40/WF50 should be purchased separately. For more information on how to use the BT40, BT41, WF40 or WF50, refer to Yealink Bluetooth USB Dongle BT40 User Guide, Yealink Bluetooth USB Dongle BT41 User Guide, Yealink Wi-Fi USB Dongle WF40 User Guide or Yealink Wi-Fi USB Dongle WF50 User Guide.

4. Connect the network and power.
You have two options for network and power connections. Your system administrator will advise you which one to use.

NOTE:

  • The IP phone should be used with Yealink’s original power adapter (5V/2A) only. The use of the third-party power adapter may cause damage to the phone. If you are connecting a PC to your phone, we recommend using the Ethernet cable provided by Yealink.
  • If inline power (PoE) is provided, you don’t need to connect the power adapter. Make sure the hub/switch is PoE-compliant.

11 Volume Key Adjust the volume of the handset, headset, and speaker.
12 Keypad keys Provide the digits and special characters in context-sensitive applications.
13 Speaker Provide ringer and speakerphone audio output.
14 Reversible Tab Secure the handset in the handset cradle when the phone is mounted vertically. 
15 Hookswitch • Pick up the handset from the handset cradle. The hookswitch bounces, and the phone connects to the line.
• Lay the handset down on the handset cradle, and the phone disconnects from the line.

Screen Icons #

Call Screen Icons #

All of your active and held calls are displayed on the calls screen. You can press the up or down navigation key to switch between calls.

For T48S/T46S/T42S/T41S/T40P/T40G, the calls screen can display the local name or number. Check with your system administrator to see if this feature is available on the phone. When there is an active call and a held call, the calls screen is shown below:

You can press OK key during a call to view the current time & date, and phone status. The phone screen is shown below:

LED Indicator #

Power LED Indicator

The power LED indicator indicates the call, message and phone’s system status.

LED Status Description
Solid red The phone is initializing.
Flash red fast (0.3 s) The phone is ringing.
Flash red slowly (1 s) The phone receives a voicemail or text message.
Solid red for 0.5 s and off for 3 s alternately The phone enters the power-saving mode.
NOTE: It is only available on the T33P/T33G/T34W/T48S/T48G/T46S/T46G/T48U/T46U/T57W/T54W/T53C phones.

Getting Started #

Startup #

After the IP phone is connected to the network and supplied with power, it automatically begins the initialization process. After startup, the phone is ready for use. You can configure the phone via a phone or web user interface.

Configure Your Phone #

Configure via Web User Interface

  • Accessing the web user interface:
    1. Press image-20230517170344431 (the OK key) to obtain the phone’s IP address when the phone is idle.
    2. Open a web browser on your computer, and enter the IP address into the address bar (e.g., “http://192.168.0.10” or “192.168.0.10”).
    3. Enter the user name (default: admin) and password (default: admin) in the login page and click Login.
  • Network Settings: Go to Network > Basic > IPv4 Config. You can configure the network settings in the following ways:
    DHCP: By default, the phone attempts to contact a DHCP server in your network to obtain its valid network settings, e.g., IP address, subnet mask, gateway address and DNS address.
    Static IP: If your phone cannot contact a DHCP server for any reason, you need to configure the IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, primary DNS address and secondary DNS address for the phone manually.

NOTE:

The IP phone also supports IPv6, but IPv6 is disabled by default.
The wrong network settings may result in the inaccessibility of your phone and may impact the network performance.
Please contact your system administrator for more information.

  • Account Settings: Go to Account > Register > Account X (X=1,2,3…15,16).
  • Parameters of the account:

Register Status It shows the registration status of the current account.
Line Active You can select Enabled/Disabled to enable/disable the account.
Label It is shown on the LCD screen to identify the account.
Display Name It is shown as caller ID when placing a call.
User Name It is provided by ITSP for registration (required).
Register Name It is an authenticated ID for authentication provided by ITSP (required).
Password It is provided by ITSP for registration (required).
Server Host It is provided by ITSP for registration (required).

Configure via Phone User Interface

  • Network Settings:When the phone is idle, tap img > Advanced (default password: admin) > Network > WAN Port/Wi-FiPort/VLAN/Web Server/802.1x/VPNLLDP/CDP/NAT to configure the network.
  • Account Settings:
    When the phone is idle, tap img > Advanced (default password: admin) > Account to configure the account.

Basic Usage #

Navigate Touch Screen #

  • To enter the main menu, tap img.
  • To return to the idle screen, tap image-20230518165544282.
  • To go back to the previous menu, tap image-20230518165601320.
  • To select a, tap the soft key.
  • To select an item, tap the item.
  • To turn pages, tap image-20230518165650618 or image-20230518165702827 on the touch screen.
  • To scroll through values in a pull-down list, press image_2023-05-DD-44 or image_2023-05-DD-14.

Enter and Update Data #

To enter data:

  1. Tap the field you want to edit.
  2. Tap the IME to switch input modes.
  3. Enter data using the keypad.
  4. Tap Save.

To select a field option:

Tap the field name, then tap the field’s highlighted box. From the pull-down list, tap the desired option.

Place Call #

Using the handset:

  1. Pick up the handset.
  2. Enter the number and press Send key.

Using the speakerphone:

  1. With the handset on-hook, press image-20230518153306443.
  2. Enter the number and press Send key.

Using the headset:

  1. With the headset connected, pressimage-20230518141043657to activate the headset mode.
  2. Enter the number and press Send key.

NOTE

During a call, you can alternate between the headset, hands-free speakerphone and handset modes by pressing the HEADSET key, the Speakerphone key or by picking up the handset. Headset mode requires a connected headset.

Answer Call #

Using the handset:

Pick up the handset.

Using the speakerphone:

Press image-20230518153306443.

Using the headset:

Press image-20230518141043657.

NOTE

You can reject an incoming call by pressing the Reject key.

End Call #

Using the handset:

Hang up the handset or press EndCall.

Using the speakerphone:

Press image-20230518153306443 or EndCall.

Using the headset:

Press EndCall.

Redial #

  • Press image_2023-05-DD-53 to enter Placed Calls list, then tap the desired entery.
  • Press image_2023-05-DD-53 when the phone is idle to dial out the last dialed number.

Call Mute/Unmute #

  • Press image_2023-05-DD-231 to mute the microphone during a call.
  • Press image_2023-05-DD-231 again to unmute the call.

Call Hold and Resume #

To place a call on hold:

Press image-20230518153522305 or Hold during an active call.

To resume the call, do one of the following:

  • If there is only one call on hold, press image-20230518153522305 or Resume.
  • If there is more than one call on hold, tap the call you want to resume, and press Resume.

Call Transfer #

You can transfer a call in the following ways:

Blind Transfer

  1. Press clip_image002 or the Transer key during a call.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to.
  3. Press clip_image002 or B Transer.

Semi-Attended Transfer

  1. Press clip_image002 or Transer key during a call.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to and press Send.
  3. Press clip_image002 or Transer key when you hear the ring-back tone.

Attended Transfer

  1. Press clip_image002 or Transer key during a call.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to and press Send.
  3. Press clip_image002 or Transer key when the second party answers.

Call Forward #

To enable call forward:

  1. When the phone is idle, select img > Features > Call Forward.
  2. Select the desired forward type. Always Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded unconditionally.
    Busy Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded when the phone is busy.
    No Answer Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded if it is not answered after a while.
  3. Enter the number you want to forward to. For No Answer Forward, tap the gray box of After Ring Time field, and then tap the desired ring time to wait before forwarding.
  4. Press Save to accept the change.

Call Conference #

  1. Press the Conference during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number of the second party, and then tap Conference.
  3. Press the Conference again when the second party answers. All parties are now joined in the conference.
  4. Press EndCall to disconnect all parties. NOTE: You can split the conference call into two individual calls by pressing Split.

Voice Message #

The message waiting indicator on the idle screen indicates that one or more voice messages are waiting at the message center. The power indicator LED slowly flashes red.

To listen to voice messages:

  1. Tap image-20230518171028831 and then tap Connect, or press image-20230518171130153.
  2. Follow the voice prompts to listen to your voice messages.

Call History #

  1. When the phone is idle, tap image-20230518171312176, then tap the desired call list on the left. Tap image-20230518165650618 or image-20230518165702827, or press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44 to scroll to the desired page. Tap image-20230518171413208 after the desired entry, and then you can do the following:

  • Press Send to call the entry.
  • Press Delete to delete the entry from the list. If you press Option, you can also do the following:
    • Select Detail to view detailed information about the entry.
    • Select Add to Contacts to add the entry to the local directory.
    • Select Add to Blacklist to add the entry to the blocklist.
    • Select Delete All to delete all entries from the list.

Contact Directory #

To add a contact:

  1. When the phone is idle, tap image-20230518171605918, then tap All Contacts on the left.
  2. Tap Add to add a contact.
  3. Enter a unique contact name in Name field and contact numbers in the corresponding fields.
  4. Tap Save to accept the change.

To edit a contact:

  1. When the phone is idle, tap image-20230518171605918, and then tap All Contacts on the left.
  2. Tap image-20230518171413208 after the desired contact.
  3. Edit the contact information.
  4. Press Save to accept the change.

To delete a contact:

  1. When the phone is idle, tap image-20230518171605918, and then tap All Contacts on the left.
  2. Tap image-20230518171413208 after the desired contact , and then tap Delete.
  3. Press the OK when the LCD screen prompts “Delete selected item?”.

Volume Adjustment #

Press image_2023-05-DD-45 during a call to adjust the receiver volume of the handset/speakerphone/headset.

Press image_2023-05-DD-45 when the phone is idle or ringing to adjust the ringer volume.

Press image_2023-05-DD-45 to adjust the media volume on the corresponding screen.
