Installation & Connection #

Package Contents #

The following items are included in your package. If you find anything missing, contact your system administrator.

Assembling the Phone #

1. Attach the stand.
You can also mount the phone to a wall. For more information on how to attach the wall mount bracket, refer to Yealink Wall Mount Quick Installation Guide for Yealink IP Phones.

2. Connect the handset and optional headset.

NOTE:

The headset or wireless headset adapter EHS36/EHS40 should be purchased separately. The EXT port can also be used to connect the expansion module EXP40. For more information on how to use the EHS36, EHS40 and EXP40, refer to Yealink EHS36 User Guide, Yealink EHS40 User Guide and Yealink EXP40 User Guide.

3. Connect the USB flash drive.

NOTE:

The USB port can also be used to connect Bluetooth USB dongle BT40/BT41 or Wi-Fi USB dongle WF40/WF50. The Bluetooth USB dongle BT40/BT41 or Wi-Fi USB dongle WF40/WF50 should be purchased separately. For more information on how to use the BT40, BT41, WF40 or WF50, refer to

4. Connect the network and power.
You have two options for network and power connections. Your system administrator will advise you which one to use.

NOTE:

  • The IP phone should be used with Yealink’s original power adapter (5V/2A) only. The use of the third-party power adapter may cause damage to the phone. If you are connecting a PC to your phone, we recommend using the Ethernet cable provided by Yealink.
  • If inline power (PoE) is provided, you don’t need to connect the power adapter. Make sure the hub/switch is PoE-compliant.

4 MUTE Key • Toggles the microphone on or off. The LED indicator glows green when the mute feature is activated.
• The T40P/T40G phones do not have key light.
4 HEADSET Key • Toggles the headset on or off. The LED indicator glows green when the headset is activated.
• The T40P/T40G phones do not have key light.
5 MESSAGE Key Access your voice messages.
5 HOLD Key Places a call on hold or resumes a held call.
Only the T46S/T46G phones have a HOLD key.
6 REDIAL Key Redials a previously dialed number.
6 TRANSFER Key Transfers a call.
Only the T46S/T46G phones have a TRANSFER key.
7 Speakerphone Key Toggle and indicates the hands-free (speakerphone) mode. The key LED glows green when the hands-free (speakerphone) mode is activated.
8 Keypad keys Allow you to enter numbers, letters, and special characters. If a menu item has an index number, you can use the keypad keys to select the item.
9 Navigation Keys • Scroll through information or options displayed on the screen.
• Access History and Directory respectively.
10 Soft Keys Confirms actions or answers incoming calls.
11 Speaker Provide ringer and speakerphone audio output.
12 Reversible Tab Secure the handset in the handset cradle when the phone is mounted vertically. 
13 Hookswitch • Pick up the handset from the handset cradle, the hookswitch bounces, and the phone connects to the line.
• Lay the handset down on the handset cradle, the phone disconnects from the line.

Screen Icons #

Call Screen Icons #

All of your active and held calls are displayed on the calls screen. You can press the up or down navigation key to switch between calls.

For T48S/T46S/T42S/T41S/T40P/T40G, the calls screen can display the local name or number. Check with your system administrator to see if this feature is available on the phone. When there is an active call and a held call, the calls screen is shown below:

You can press OK key during a call to view the current time & date, and phone status. The phone screen is shown below:

LED Indicator #

Power LED Indicator

The power LED indicator indicates the call, message and phone’s system status.

LED Status Description
Solid red The phone is initializing.
Flash red fast (0.3 s) The phone is ringing.
Flash red slowly (1 s) The phone receives a voicemail or text message.
Solid red for 0.5 s and off for 3 s alternately The phone enters the power-saving mode.
NOTE: It is only available on the T33P/T33G/T34W/T48S/T48G/T46S/T46G/T48U/T46U/T57W/T54W/T53C phones.

The line key LED indicators are associated with the status of phone lines and features.

NOTE:

It is not available on T31W/T30P/T30/T48S/T48G/T48U/T57W phones.

Line key LED (associated with the phone line)

LED Status Description
Solid green The line is seized.
The line is in conversation.
Flash green fast The line receives an incoming call.
Flash green slowly The call is placed on hold.
Off The line is inactive.

Line key LED (configured as a page switch key)

LED Status Description
Solid red There is a call parked on the line, and the line key is not on the current page.
Flash green fast The line receives an incoming call, and the line key is not on the current page.
Flash red fast The monitored user whose line key is not on the current page receives an incoming call.
Off The line keys are idle.

Getting Started #

Startup #

After the IP phone is connected to the network and supplied with power, it automatically begins the initialization process. After startup, the phone is ready for use. You can configure the phone via a phone or web user interface.

Configure Your Phone #

Configure via Web User Interface

  • Accessing the web user interface:
    1. Press image-20230517170344431 (the OK key) to obtain the phone’s IP address when the phone is idle.
    2. Open a web browser on your computer, and enter the IP address into the address bar (e.g., “http://192.168.0.10” or “192.168.0.10”).
    3. Enter the user name (default: admin) and password (default: admin) in the login page and click Login.
  • Network Settings: Go to Network > Basic > IPv4 Config. You can configure the network settings in the following ways:
    DHCP: By default, the phone attempts to contact a DHCP server in your network to obtain its valid network settings, e.g., IP address, subnet mask, gateway address and DNS address.
    Static IP: If your phone cannot contact a DHCP server for any reason, you need to configure the IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, primary DNS address and secondary DNS address for the phone manually.

    NOTE:
    The IP phone also supports IPv6, but IPv6 is disabled by default. The wrong network settings may result in the inaccessibility of your phone and may impact the
    network performance. Please contact your system administrator for more information.
  • Account Settings: Go to Account > Register > Account X (X=1,2,3…15,16).
  • Parameters of the account:
Parameter Description
Register Status It shows the registration status of the current account.
Line Active You can select Enabled/Disabled to enable/disable the account.
Label It is shown on the LCD screen to identify the account.
Display Name It is shown as caller ID when placing a call.
User Name It is provided by ITSP for registration (required).
Register Name It is an authenticated ID for authentication provided by ITSP (required).
Password It is provided by ITSP for registration (required).
Server Host It is provided by ITSP for registration (required).
  • Register status icons on the LCD screen:

NOTE:

Check with your system administrator if any error appears during the registration process or if a specific configuration is required.

Configure via Phone User Interface

  • Network Settings:
    Press the Menu when the phone is idle, and go to Advanced Settings (default password: admin) > Network > WAN Port/Wi-Fi Port/VLAN/Web Server/802.1x/VPN/LLDP/CDP/NAT to configure the network.
  • Account Settings:
    Press the Menu when the phone is idle, and go to Advanced Settings (default password: admin) > Accounts to configure the account.

NOTE:

Refer to Configure via web user interface above for more information about the account parameter.

Basic Usage #

Place Call #

Using the handset:

  1. Pick up the handset.
  2. Enter the number and press Send.

Using the speakerphone:

  1. With the handset on-hook, press image-20230518153306443.
  2. Enter the number and press Send

Using the headset:

  1. With the headset connected, pressimage-20230518141043657to activate the headset mode.
  2. Enter the number and press Send.

NOTE:

During a call, you can alternate between the headset, hands-free speakerphone and handset modes by pressing the HEADSET key, the Speakerphone key or by picking up the handset. Headset mode requires a connected headset.

Answer Call #

Using the handset:

Pick up the handset.

Using the speakerphone:

Press image-20230518153306443.

Using the headset:

Press image-20230518141043657.

NOTE

You can reject an incoming call by pressing the Reject.

End Call #

Using the handset:

Hang up the handset or press EndCall.

Using the speakerphone:

Press image-20230518153306443 or EndCall.

Using the headset:

Press EndCall.

Redial #

  • Press image_2023-05-DD-53 to enter Placed Calls list, press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44to select the desired entry, then press image_2023-05-DD-53 or Send.
  • Press image_2023-05-DD-53 when the phone is idle to dial out the last dialed number.

Call Mute #

  • Press image_2023-05-DD-231 to mute the microphone during a call.
  • Press image_2023-05-DD-231 again to unmute the call.

Call Hold and Resume #

To place a call on hold:

Press image-20230518153522305 or Hold during an active call.

To resume the call, do one of the following:

  • If there is only one call on hold, press image-20230518153522305 or Resume.
  • If there is more than one call on hold, press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44to select the desired entry and press Resume.

Call Transfer #

You can transfer a call in the following ways:

Blind Transfer

  1. Press clip_image002 or Trans key during a call.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to.
  3. Press clip_image002 or B Trans.

Semi-Attended Transfer

  1. Press clip_image002 or Trans key during a call.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to and press Send.
  3. Press clip_image002 or Trans key when you hear the ring-back tone.

Attended Transfer

  1. Press clip_image002 or Trans key during a call.
  2. Enter the number you want to transfer to and press Send.
  3. Press clip_image002 or Trans key when the second party answers.

Call Forward #

To enable call forward:

  1. Press the Menu when the phone is idle, and then select Features > Call Forward.
  2. Select the desired forward type. Always Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded unconditionally.
    Busy Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded when the phone is busy.
    No Answer Forward — Incoming calls are forwarded if it is not answered after a while.
  3. Enter the number you want to forward to. For No Answer Forward, press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44to select the desired ring time to wait before forwarding from After Ring Time field.
  4. Press Save to accept the change.

Call Conference #

  1. Press Conf during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
  2. Enter the number of the second party, and press Send.
  3. Press Conf again when the second party answers. All parties are now joined in the conference.
  4. Press EndCall to disconnect all parties. NOTE: You can split the conference call into two individual calls by pressing Split.

Speed Dial #

To configure a speed dial key:

  1. Press the Menu when the phone is idle, and then select Features > DSS keys.
  2. Select the desired DSS key.
  3. Select the SpeedDial from the Type field, select the desired line from the Account ID field, enter a label in the Label field, enter the number in the Value field.
  4. Press Save to accept the change.

To use the speed dial key:

Press the SpeedDial to dial out the preset number.

Voice Message #

The message waiting indicator on the idle screen indicates that one or more voice messages are waiting at the message center. The power indicator LED slowly flashes red.

To listen to voice messages:

  1. Press image_2023-05-DD-47 or Connect.
  2. Follow the voice prompts to listen to your voice messages.

Call History #

  1. Press the History when the phone is idle, press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44 to scroll through the list.
  2. Select an entry from the list, and you can do the following:
    • Press Send to call the entry.
    • Press Delete to delete the entry from the list. If you press Option, you can also do the following:
      • Select Detail to view detailed information about the entry.
      • Select Add to Contacts to add the entry to the local directory.
      • Select Add to Blacklist to add the entry to the blocklist.
      • Select Delete All to delete all entries from the list.

Contact Directory #

To add a contact:

  1. Press Dir when the phone is idle, and then select All Contacts.
  2. Press Add to add a contact.
  3. Enter a unique contact name in Name field and contact numbers in the corresponding fields.
  4. Press the SAVE to accept the change.

To edit a contact:

  1. Press Dir when the phone is idle, and then select All Contacts.
  2. Press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44to select the desired contact, press Option and then select Detail from the prompt list.
  3. Edit the contact information.
  4. Press Save to accept the change.

To delete a contact:

  1. Press Dir when the phone is idle, and then select All Contacts.
  2. Press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44to select the desired contact, press Option and then select Delete from the prompt list.
  3. Press the OK when the LCD screen prompts “Delete selected item?”.

Volume Adjustment #

Press image_2023-05-DD-45 during a call to adjust the receiver volume of the handset/speakerphone/headset.

Press image_2023-05-DD-45 when the phone is idle or ringing to adjust the ringer volume.

Press image_2023-05-DD-45 to adjust the media volume on the corresponding screen.

Ring Tones #

  1. Press the Menu when the phone is idle, and then select Basic >Sound > Ring Tones.
  2. Press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44to select Common or the desired account and then press the Enter.
  3. Press image_2023-05-DD-14 or image_2023-05-DD-44to select the desired ringtone.
  4. Press Save to accept the change.
